CineCoop is a browser extension that lets users watch movies and shows together on supported streaming websites with synchronized playback and an optional group chat.
CineCoop may process data needed for watch parties, including playback state (play, pause, seek position), session and room information, invite links, chat messages you send, and optional camera or microphone streams if you turn them on.
If you choose to sign in with Discord for chat, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar. Session preferences (such as chat language or host-only control) may be stored locally in your browser.
CineCoop does not collect health information, payment or financial information, precise location data, or browsing history outside what is needed to sync video on the page you are watching.
Data is used only to provide the core functionality of the extension: creating and joining watch parties, keeping playback in sync, optional group chat, optional voice/video, and GIF search in chat.
Data is not used for advertising, tracking, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.
Preferences and optional Discord profile information may be stored locally in your browser. Synchronized playback uses peer-to-peer connections between participants. CineCoop does not record or host the video stream from streaming platforms.
Discord sign-in is handled through our secure HTTPS server for OAuth. We do not sell your data.
CineCoop does not sell user data. Data may only be shared with technical services required for the extension to work, such as peer-to-peer sync between users in the same session, Discord (if you sign in), and our authentication server.
We aim to limit data processing to what is necessary for the extension to work. Do not share sensitive personal information in chat messages.
